"nicolas poels, the little man's cub you see just above,
opened his little eyes at 01:15 on a saturday of april 1977. Not really aware
of what he was doing, he kept filming his first movie : "Let's get out!",
which remain unreleased. On the well choosen year of Jesus' 1984th birthday,
he received his first camera : a blue Fisher Price instamatic 110. He started
staring at everybody throug the plastic lens of his new toy, pressing the
little yellow button. He was amazed of the effects of light on the plastic
sheet. For the rest of his childhood, he kept monopolising the family camera
: first a pentax reflex and then a nikon f50. Having wonderfully failed in
his law studies, nicolas started studying international trade, self-conscious
of the travel opportunities it might offer him. And on his first year, he
flew to Hong-Kong, paradise of the "cheap" cameras. Coming back
with a canon eos5 and huge stack of pictures, he started photographing all
he could."
